Enema treatments

All enema treatments are performed at Primrose Clinic

Coffee enema

Coffee administered via enema does not go through the digestive system and will not affect the body the same way as drinking a cup of coffee. When coffee is administered rectally, the hepatic portal veins carry the caffeine directly to the liver. Coffee contains caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline, which dilate the blood vessels and encourage bile flow. Bile is the means by which the liver eliminates stored toxins. Usually, bile (including toxic bile) is reabsorbed nine to ten times by the intestinal walls before it is eliminated in the stool. Coffee enemas are mood enhancing and improve motivation yet induce a feeling of inner calm.

Wheatgrass enemas

Wheatgrass has anti-inflammatory properties and the capacity to strengthen all body tissues, including the heart and arteries, and help reduce blood fat. It works with the liver by enhancing its antioxidant mechanism, thus improving digestion and boosting energy levels. Wheatgrass enemas deliver a rich supply of minerals, vitamins, amino acids, phytonutrients, and metabolic enzymes into your body.

Aloe vera enema

Aloe vera is a soothing and healing plant with strong anti-inflammatory properties. Aloe vera enemas are good for haemorrhoid sufferers, as it will help to stop any bleeding. Aloe vera enemas also promote intestinal tract healing and benefit people with irritable bowel or diverticulitis. It is also good for treating skin conditions

Slippery elm enema

This is one of the best herbs to take for any gastrointestinal tract problems, which helps prevent both constipation and diarrhoea. It also helps to heal haemorrhoids and Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Slippery elm soothes and protects the body’s mucous membranes. This coating property heals the intestinal walls, relieves mild pain, irritation, and inflammation. Slippery elm protects the intestinal walls from excess acidity and the formation of ulcers.

Flax seed implant

When having a flax seed implant treatment, the flax seed oil is held in the bowel for approximately 45 minutes. This is an ideal way to receive a good dose of essential fatty acids as it is high in omega 3 and 6. Flax seed oil enhances cellular permeability, which aids detoxification at a cellular level. It also leaves the patient with a calm feeling.
